Spotting a cardinal in my yard never gets old, even if I see them every day! There’s something so striking about their bright red color, and they’re equally beautiful in any season. Framed against green leaves? Gorgeous! Popping out against the white snow? Stunning!
The male Northern Cardinal’s bright red coloring is iconic, but the female’s coloring is more muted- a warm brown with reddish highlights at the wings, tail, and crest. While her coloring is less flashy, she’s still beautiful, and the two together make a lovely pair.
We hope this collection of cardinal photos is a perfect complement to your daily birdwatching!
